Hi, There is apparently a new (unclear) policy for transiting passengers with a layover of less than 24 hours in China. According to that policy, unless the passenger has a confirmed hotel booking (etc.), they will not be allowed to enter China. Can you clarify this? I am transiting in Beijing soon (Thailand to New York via Beijing) and is planning to book one of your tours. Thanks. I have copied the new update below:
“Update March 2018: TWOV is still operational in Shanghai however new rules are supposedly in operation limiting the ability for passengers to enter China and leave the airport. Passengers with: (1) short stays (under four hours), (2) same-day transfers (more than four hours, but with an onward flight on the same day as arriving), (3) a transit within 24 hours but without confirmed hotel accommodation, and/or (4) who do not need to collect bags and recheck for their onward flight may all be affected. Passengers in any one of these categories may be directed to the transfer line with direct air-side transfer (not allowed to enter China/leave the airport). “
Hi Paolo,
May I know where did you see this policy?
Beijing airport terminal 3 is no problem to leave airport and take the tour. We do layover tours every day. Please check our Twitter at: https://twitter.com/BeijingLayover
Hi,
We’d like to do a Great Wall tour and are undecided between the Mutianyu and Badaling private tour. We have a 9 hour layover on Saturday, Feb 24th so time shouldn’t be an issue for either. Which one is most scenic/beautiful this time of year? Is one more crowded than the other?
Thanks,
Ben
Hi Ben,
Thank you for contacting us!
We recommend you visit the Mutianyu Great Wall, which is the most beautiful and less crowded section. And there is the toboggan ride at there. 99% of our clients visited this section.
We just sent you an email about detailed tour itinerary, please check.
Hello
I am an US citizen currently in Thailand. I want to go on your private tour to great wall and forbidden city. I do not yet have a layover flight to Beijing. How many hours do I need for the layover? What is the ideal timeframe 6am until 10pm??
also what flights are cheapest and easiest for a Beijing layover. Where do you recommend? Taiwan ??
thank you,
Caryn
Hi Caryn,
Thank you for contacting us!
If you want to visit the Great Wall and Forbidden City, you’d better layover in Beijing at least 8 hours. 6am until 10pm is perfect. We suggest you book the Air China flights.
